Taylor Crousore, is an actor,  comedian, and writer based in New York City. He’s been acting professionally, Off Broadway and regionally, for the since 2013. Most recently he’s been performing off Broadway in the musical comedy he co-wrote, A Musical About Star Wars. He’s starred in a number of New York City shows, including Forbidden Broadway, NEWSical the Musical, and When Pigs Fly. He starred in and co-wrote the award-winning comedy short SheetWOW, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Hear more about Taylor in episode 53.

Currently, wherever I can pay the least amount of rent. So… my parents’ house.

 

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A scientist/basketball player/cartoonist

 

What is your profession?

Actor

 

What profession, other than your own, would you like to attempt?

Making wooden chairs and tables. So… carpentry. Yeah carpentry

What is your preferred form of creative expression?

Performing in any way. Singing on stage, a play, film work. Just, performing any way I physically can.

 

What is your favorite movie, song, and work of art?

Movie: The Jerk, Song: What Kind of Fool Am I – Sammy Davis, Jr. Art: All work done by local NYC cartoonist Joey Allgood. I have a bunch of his work. I like Sleepy Owl the most though.

 

Who do you admire most?

Myself is what I wish I had the confidence to say, truly.

 

Over the course of your life, what is an issue with which you have repeatedly struggled?

In childhood, who was your celebrity crush?

Anna Chlumsky from My Girl

 

What historical figure would you most like to meet?

Ghandi. I’m not good at small talk, so it’d be perfect.

 

What natural gift or ability would you most like to possess?

To be a really good tap dancer. I’ve tried, I could probably try harder… but some people can just move like butter and make it look so effortless. I look like a marionette. I think tap is cool.

 

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Filling out this questionnaire right when you emailed it to me. Seriously, this is a big deal. I’m a huge procrastinator.

 

What quality do you admire most in a person?

To laugh at themselves.

 

What is something you would like to learn about?

Robotics and how electronics work.

Being happy and content with who you are and where you are in life.
