Tom Gentry - The Path to Authenticity

Thanks for taking the time to check out the podcast and the website. My name is Tom Gentry. I’m the producer and host of the The Path to Authenticity.

I live and work in West Palm Beach, Florida. I’m a writer and a state and an internationally-certified addiction counselor. I’ve spent more than 20 years working with people and families affected by substance use disorders and related concerns.

I began that work in the late 1990’s, after finding recovery myself. That changed the course of my life, and started me down a path. I eventually learned that path led to myself. Or, rather, my Self.

In my work, I help men navigate the terrain between early stages of abstinence and long-term recovery. I facilitate groups, focusing on relationships, codependency issues, the transition into manhood, and, primarily, the relationship with oneself.

I launched this podcast because I wanted to reach more people. I wanted to tell the stories I’ve heard and share and lessons I’ve learned. I wanted listeners to hear from the people I’ve met and to benefit from the wisdom they have to offer.

Most of all, I wanted to build a community for people like me, who want more from life and who want to learn more about themselves.

I share some of my story in episode 23 and episode 73. To learn more about my work, visit tomgentry.net.
